Pitot Tube Apparatus
Model: ASC-00451 Make: PAK
Description
Pitot-static tubes are fluid velocity measurement devices used in fluid mechanics and aerodynamics. They consist of a slender tube with one open end (the Pitot tube) facing into the fluid flow and another end with multiple small holes (static ports) that are perpendicular to the flow direction. The Pitot tube measures the total pressure of the fluid, which includes both the static pressure and the dynamic pressure due to the fluid’s velocity. The static ports measure only the static pressure of the fluid, unaffected by its velocity. By comparing the total pressure and static pressure readings, these tubes allow for the calculation of fluid velocity. Pitot-static tubes are widely used in applications such as aircraft instrumentation, weather monitoring, and airflow measurement in various industries.
